Etymology The specific epithet tubicola is a New Latin adjective meaning 'living in tubes' or 'inhabitant of tubes', being composed by the prefix tubi-, from the Latin noun tubus and meaning 'tube' or 'pipe', and the Latin suffix -cola, meaning inhabitant, and refers to the fact that the holotype was found ''encased in a delicate and transparent tube which is closely ringed'' (Day, 1963: 393).
