Synonymy Fornasini (1906): Differs only from Brady's Challenger drawing (pl. 107 fig. 2) in having 14 chambers in the last whorl instead of 12. Brady's Challenger drawing (pl. 107 fig. 2) is reffered by Jones (2013) as Ammonia convexa. Nevertheless The photos and drawings of the types of gaudichaudi (one photo is of an Elphidium) suggest to that it has too many chambers in the adult (~14) cf 11 in convexa and that the umbilical side is too convex and spiral side not convex enough cf convexa and that theumbilical boss is too large cf convexa (Hayward). [details]
Syntype Note: The fourth picture is probably of an Elphidium (Hayward)
