Diagnosis Test free, globular, up to 3.5 mm in diameter; wall relatively thick but flexible, agglutinated of loosely aggregated sand and long sponge spicules felted together in a ground mass of finer sand and broken spicules, surface smoothly finished; aperture an elongate narrow curved or sigmoid slit, elevated on a low ridge.
