Description Tests nautiloid, lenticular, discoid. Proloculus small and spherical. Endothyroidally or planispirally coiled tests, rarely uncoiled. Chambers globular and not numerous. Septa planar. Endoskeleton generally developed (crusts, hooks, pseudochomata). Wall dark microgranular, occasionally bilayered to multilayered. Aperture terminal simple, basal, rarely cribrate or central.
