Marsh (1895) provided a synonymy, figures, and comments, including the contrasting habitats mentioned in the key couplet on page 13, clearly establish that he was dealing with Diacyclops thomasi (S.A. Forbes, 1882), the common cyclopoid in Great Lakes plankton.
