Taxonomic remark REMANEICELLA Brönnimann, Zaninetti, & Whittaker, 1983. Ts. Remaneica gonzalezi Seiglie, 1964. Loeblich & Tappan, (1987), claimed this genus to be the jr. obj. syn. de Septotrochammina Zheng, 1979, based on subjective observations, and submitted a proposal to the ICZN to recognize Remaneica gonzalezi Seiglie, 1964, as the nominal species for Septotrochammina Zheng, 1979. Conversely, Banner (1989) and Bronnimann & Whittaker proposed that it was more logical for Septotrochammina to be treatred as a genus with no valid type species and thus Remaneicella was the only valid genus of the two and that action is followed here.
