Diagnosis Test lenticular, planispiral, and involute, from five to seven whorls earliest whorl nautiloid with rounded periphery, later lenticular with subangular periphery, final one to two whorls may be partially evolute; wall calcareous, distinct diaphanotheca present even in the septa, external whorl with protheca, chomata, and pseudochomata may be present in different growth stages; aperture single.
