Brachiopods collected from the limestone at the base of the Mandagery Park Formation, New South Wales, comprise the first large Lower Devonian brachiopod fauna described from a limestone in southeast Australia. There is a close resemblance to species from eastern Europe and a general resemblance to species from central Asia and western North America. Many of the genera present have not been reported from Australia previously although well known from limestone facies elsewhere. The atrypids described and illustrated include Reticulatrypa fairhillensis new genus and species, Ogilviella prolifica new species, Atrypina talenti new species, Atrypa reticularis inversa new subspecies, and Spirigerina supramarginalis (Khalfin). The new genus Reticulatrypa is characterized by a lenticular form, a finely reticulate ornament of closely spaced growth lamellae, a straight to suberect beak, and a width generally exceeding the length.
