The Alluroididae is a small family of Oligochaeta formerly known only from Africa. The discovery of some new African material has made possible a revision of the earlier descriptions and the erection of a new species. A fourth species is described from some South American material deposited at the British :Museum (Natural History). In the light of these investigations the definition of the family has had to be amended.
