Three localities on the northern Exmouth Plateau have yielded faunas of early Cenomanian, possible Aptian and ill defined Early Cretaceous age, the early Cenomanian with several planktic species not reported from the vicinity previously. A new benthic genus, Scheibnerova, with S. protindica sp. nov. the type species, occurs in the early Cenomanian fauna from Exmouth Plateau and also in previously reported Eltanin samples from the Cenomanian of Kerguelen Ridge.
