New generic names are herein proposed for three previously described Upper Ordovician ostracodes. Jonesella pedigera Ulrich, 1980, has been chosen the type species of Cincinnaticoncha , a palaeocope of uncertain familial affinities, and with only a remote similarity to Jonesella . In addition, Primitiella unicornis (Ulrich, 1879) has been proven not to be a member of the Monotiopleuridae, and has therefore been removed from the monotiopleurid genus Primitiella. P. unicornis has subsequently been chosen as the basis for another new palaeocope, Pseudoprimitiella . Likewise, Octonaria bicava Ulrich & Bassler, 1923, has been proven to be an umbonate palaeocope with no affinities to the podocope family Thlipsuridae. O. bicava has therefore been removed from the thlipsurid genus Octonaria , and designated the type species of Edenopsis
