Original description Test consists of spherical proloculus and planispiral tubular chamber. The aperture is terminal, simple. Two-layered wall with an internal microgranular layer and external hyaline layer. The umbilical region contains a hyaline infilling, often with columnar jointing. Channel-like apertures extend from the upper surface of the test. Their arrangement and shape are only visible in equatorial or oblique sections.
Occurrence and age. Early Pennsylvanian–Cisuralian in Russia (Urals, Timan-Pechora Depression (Pechora River basin); Middle Pennsylvanian in Turkey (West Anatolia); Late Pennsylvanian (Gzhelian) in Kyrgyzstan (Alai Range); Cisuralian (Asselian–Sakmarian) in Arctic Canada; Cisuralian in Tajikistan (Darvaz, Pamir).
