Original description Diagnose : Proloculus sphérique à subsphérique, suivi d'un long tube cylindrique, droit à très légèrement arqué, subdivisé par des amorces de septations disposés irrégulièrement à régulièrement le long du tube. Position des pseudosepta se traduisant sur la surface externe par la présence de légères dépressions. Muraille calcaire secrétée, composée de deux couches distinctes : une couche micritique interne, mince et microcristalline, et une couche externe plus épaisse, jaunâtre en transparence formée de cristaux perpendiculaires à la paroi donnant un aspect fibroradié. Ouverture simple, terminale. Discussion : La présence de pseudoseptations et la muraille double différencient Syzranella des genres Syzrania et Earlandinella. Répartition stratigraphique : Le spécimen de Gerke et Sossipatrova (1975), attribué avec doute au genre, provient du nord-est de l'U.R.S.S. (horizon de Paren) daté du Permien inférieur (Assélien?). Ceux de Toomey (1972, 1983) proviennent du Carbonifère Supérieur du Midcontinent. Le matériel du Pré-Oural de Baryshnikov et al. (1982) date de l'Artinskien, tandis que celui de Vachard (1981) serait assélo-sakmarien. Le matériel de Donetz est assélien. Dans l'Arctique canadien, le genre va du Moscovien (Zone 25) au Sakmarien. Diagnosis: Spherical to subspherical proloculus, followed by a long cylindrical tube, straight to very slightly arched, subdivided by the beginnings of septations arranged irregularly to regularly along the tube. Position of the pseudosepta is reflected on the external surface by the presence of slight depressions. Secreted calcareous wall, composed of two distinct layers: an internal micritic layer, thin and microcrystalline, and a thicker external layer, yellowish in transparency formed of crystals perpendicular to the wall giving a fibroradiated appearance. Simple, terminal opening. Discussion: The presence of pseudoseptations and the double wall differentiate Syzranella from the genera Syzrania and Earlandinella. Stratigraphic distribution: The specimen of Gerke and Sossipatrova (1975), doubtfully attributed to the genus, comes from the north-east of the USSR (Paren horizon) dated to the Lower Permian (Asselian?).
