Classification As examples of usages Støp-Bowitz (1948:17) used Lopadorrhynchinae (spelling as Lopadorhynchinae) as one of four subfamilies, with Iospilinae, Pontodorinae and Lacydoniinae, of the Phyllodocidae. Earlier Sedgwick (1898) used Lopadorhynchinae as a subfamily of Phyllodocidae, along with Alciopinae, and Phyllodocinae. Within Lopadorrhynchidae there are no non sensu-stricto subfamilies so this rank should be disregarded there. It is currently only historically relevant within Phyllodocidae. [details]
