Boxshall and Halsey (2004) rejected Willen’s (1996, 2000) views regarding the Pseudotachidiinae and was considered as part of the Thalestridae. More recently, Wells (2007) accepted the family Pseudotachidiidae with three subfamilies, Paranannopinae Por, 1986, Donsiellinae, and Pseudomesochrinae, the latter with Pseudomesochra as its only genus. There is no consensus regarding the position and status of Pseudotachidiinae and the entire family is in urgent need of revision.
