Definition of Organochlorine pesticides:
Pesticides made out of organochlorine compounds.

They are, bioaccumulative pesticides which include DDT, dieldrin, heptachlor and chlordane. Many organochlorine pesticides are extremely persistent in the environment and in people's bodies. Although most are no longer used in the Western countries, many are manufactured there for use in developing countries.
