Validity De Weerdt (2002) declared this genus a junior synonym of Dendroxea Griessinger, 1971. She declared that the type (and only) species, D. tremitensis on the basis of its description 'is conspecific with D. lenis', but did not elaborate on this. The species was reported again (although not described) from nearby Turkish waters (Gözcelioğlu et al. 2011), and apparently was recognized as different from Dendroxea lenis, so for the time being we treat the genus as valid. The genus remains monotypical.  [details]
