Type material Carter's (1874) type material consisting of subfossil remains from Colon, Caribbean coast of Panama, is lost. Van Soest (2002) proposed as a neotype material described by him previously as Forcepia trilabis from Barbados. This differs from Forcepia trilabis(Boury-Esnault, 1973). [details]
