Authority Desqueyroux-Faúndez & van Soest, 1996) declared Ectyomyxilla a nomen nudum because the original author, Lundbeck (1909), did not mention any species. However, the subsequent use by Hentschel (1914) makes this name available taking authorship and type species designation from that paper. The Systema Porifera cited Dendy, 1924 as the author of Ectyomyxilla, but this was an error (Dendy was the author of Crellomyxilla, a junor synonym of Ectyomyxilla). [details]
