Homonymy This seems to be a junior homonym of Ancorella Von Nordman, 1832 (Crustacea), but this name is not available because Von Nordman misspelled Anchorella Cuvier, 1831. Its one letter difference from Anchorella Cuvier is sufficient to prevent homonymy (ICZN Art. 57.6). [details]
Publication date Maldonado (2002) gives 1906 as the year of erection of this genus, but this must be 1907. [details]
Taxonomy Ancorella is clearly an Astrophorid species. For the time being, we allocated it to Pachastrellidae even if its relationships with the other genera of the family are not clearly established (Cárdenas et al., 2011). [details]
