Validity Gammill (1997) did not describe this following the rules of the ICZN. Consequently, the combination is not available, It is left here in the World Porifera Database solely for the purpose of alerting scientists of the possibility of an addional species of Aplysina. The present combination is also a junior homonym of Aplysina aurea Hyatt, 1875. [details]
