History: Raja Raja Chola, was one of the most prominent rulers of the Chola dynasty in South India. His reign, which lasted from approximately 985 to 1014 CE, is considered a golden period in Indian History and conspicuous by his maritime outlook in that period. Raja Raja Chola was associated with significant maritime conquests during his reign and established extensive maritime trade and diplomatic relations beyond Indian sub-continent with various Southeast Asian kingdoms including present-day Myanmar, Malaysia, and Indonesia. |
