Etymology Not stated. The specific epithet quadricirrata means 'having four cirri'. It is composed by the prefix of Latin origin quadri-, meaning 'four', and the Latin adjective cirrata, feminine of cirratus and meaning 'having tendrils or cirri', and refers presumably to the presence of four anal cirri, as described by Rainer (1973: 560): ''Pygidium comprises 2 pairs of short conical cirri, more or less equal in size.''
