Status Quatrefages (1866:333) uses Pectinaria aegyptia as the combination, but indicates Edwards and Lamarck had used it earlier (the work is not clearly indicated) with the spelling of Pectinaria aegyptiaca. Subsequent to Quatrefages the combination in Pectinaria is used by a number of authors. More recently Hutchings & Peart (2002) continue to include Pectinaria aegyptia in Pectinaria based on what is known of its character states. [details]
