Additional information The species was first cited in the Mediterranean Sea by Somaschini & Gravina (1993) as Questa caudicirra Hartman, 1966. Giere & Erséus (1998) determined later that this material was in fact a new species, describing it as Questa mediterranea Giere & Erséus, 1998. [details]Depth range 5-20 m. [details] Distribution Known from the islands of Ponza and Zannone, at the Pontine Islands Archipelago (Tyrrhenian coast of Italy). [details] Editor's comment The geographic coordinates of the type locality provided in the original description (Giere & Erséus, 1998) seem to be erroneous. They were corrected from 40.50ºN, 12.55ºE to 40º50'N, 12º55'E in order to plot the type locality on the above map.
