Etymology The specific epithet parauncinata is composed by the specific epithet of the species Protoariciella uncinata Hartmann-Schröder, 1962, preceded by the Greek prefix para-, meaning 'beside' or 'near', and refers to the morphological similarity between the two species. [details]
Habitat Intertidal sandy to gravelly substrates. Records from the algae zone and rock pools are probably due to associated sandy sediments. Occurs from marine to brackish waters of 8-10‰. [details]
