Etymology Not stated. The specific epithet normalis is a Latin adjective meaning 'normal' or 'regular', and refers presumably to the lack of a specialised superior compound chaeta in the parapodia, being all the compound chaetae described as ''similar with moderate shaft-heads and straight unidentate blades of normal length'' (Day, 1963: 401).
