Type locality Near Oahu, Hawaiian Islands, Pacific Ocean (gazetteer estimate 21.42°, -158.21°): "Mare pacificum prope insulas havaicas summa aqua, in itinere Eugeniae 7 Julii 1852" (Kinberg, 1866: 243). According to Skogman (1854: 228), the 7th July 1852 the location of the frigate HSwMS Eugenie was south to southwestern of the island of Oahu, between Honolulu and Kaena Point, the western cape of the island, on its way to California. The geolocation was thus estimated with a gazetteer to be about 21.42°, -158.21°. [details]
