Diagnosis (San Martín et al, 2026: 6 of 85) Colour pattern as transverse brown, black or reddish bands. Nuchal epaulettes reaching to end of tentacular segment or end of chaetiger 1. Dorsal cirri from chaetiger 3 equal in length; cirrophores present on tentacular cirri and first dorsal cirri, otherwise absent or indistinct posteriorly. Antennae and tentacular cirri cylindrical or flask-shaped, dorsal cirri short, cylindrical to ovoid. Pharynx with single to several sinuations anterior and lateral to proventricle. Trepan arranged in single ring; teeth equal or two large lateral teeth with irregular smaller teeth. Compound chaetae with bidentate blades. Pseudo-simple chaetae present on chaetigers 1-4 or more posteriorly, in all chaetigers, or absent in I. zonata, uni- or bidentate, with a small distal tooth.
