Type species The type species designation was absent from the creation text for the new genus Nygrenia. This rendered the genus name unavailable. Code Article 13.3 states: "To be available, every new genus-group name published after 1930 (except those proposed for collective groups or ichnotaxa) must, in addition to satisfying the provisions of Article 13.1, be accompanied by the fixation of a type species in the original publication [Art. 68]" The authors havel published an erratum correcting this. The type species is indicated here as Nygrenia acutidentata as the ZooBank entry states this name is the type ( https://www.zoobank.org/NomenclaturalActs/70c59d8a-6359-4555-b969-f934d512dc39 ). Subsequently this was confirmed in a note from the authors (see second source) [details]

Diagnosis (San Martin et al, 2026: 15 of 85). Colour pattern with lateral longitudinal reddish-brown lines, and sometimes transverse bands. Nuchal epaulettes extending to chaetiger 1. Dorsal cirri from chaetiger 3 of equal length; cirrophores present on tentacular cirri and first dorsal cirri, otherwise absent or indistinct. Antennae and tentacular cirri cylindrical, dorsal cirri cylindrical or ovoid, short. Compound chaetae with bidentate blades. Pseudo-simple chaetae present on some anterior chaetigers. Bayonet chaetae of thick type, subdistally denticulated. Pharynx with a single to few sinuations, anterior and ventral to proventricle. Trepan arranged in one ring (?), with equal teeth, or with two large lateral teeth in combination with irregularly sized and arranged teeth.
