Etymology Paraonis lobulata is named for the "morphological shape of the segments [sic] and the posterior buccal lip". Presumably this was intended as a reference to the well-developed notopodial postchaetal lobes which characterize the species, The Latin 'lobulata' is not explained but it is evidently an adjectival derivative of the noun 'lobus', an elongated protuberance. [details]
