Editor's comment Most (European records) under this name can be referred to Protula tubularia; however, although Turton's (1819) figure might be P. tubularia, his record has been attributed to Pomatoceros triqueter (fide Harvey [& Glossop] 1835) or to Serpula vermicularis (fide Thorp 1944: 13).Since Montague was mostly living in Kingsbridge, Devonshire, his collecting locality was nearby Torcross on the Channel coast of Devon [details] |
