Type locality  E off Jusanko, Aomori, Japan, 226–228 m depth, 40.8267, 144.87° (40°49.6′ N, 144°52.2' E). The geolocation information is not given with the type information, but instead is buried midway in an appendix table of otherwise non-relevant collections formerly held by Miura, taken on Research Cruise KH88-04 of the R/V Hakuho-maru.. Three specimens from the same station (not given an alphanumeric, but now known as collection number ICHUM 5768) are the only specimens known. [details]
