Etymology "This species name refers to the character of possessing two types of lyrate chaetae" (Erdoğan-Dereli & Çinar, 2019: 481). From the Latin hetero, 'different', and chaeta, 'bristle'. [details]
Habitat Maërl beds and sandy-muddy bottoms, from shallow subtidal to shelf depths. [details]
Reproduction Eggs or sperm packages in coelomic cavities. Eggs usually from chaetiger 30 onwards; each segment with 4–6 eggs, diameter of eggs between 77–96 μm. Sperm packages from chaetiger 31 onwards; each segment with two sperm packages. [details]
Type locality Sea of Marmara, NE Atlantic Ocean ( 40.3197°, 27.5975°), 10 m, sandy mud. [details]
