Authority Lamarck (1818) clearly took the species name from the Savigny MS, not officially published until 1822, as he cites the MS, but his brief description in both Latin and French bears little relation to the more comprehensive description of Savigny. For this reason we cannot say the authority is 'Savigny in Lamarck' [details]Unreviewed
Distribution Distribution: Pacific Ocean, Malay Archipelago, Indian Ocean, Red Sea, South Atlantic Ocean and Adriatic Sea (Fauvel,1953); tropical Indo-Pacific in Kalk (1958). [details]
