Status Beddard (1889: 51, footnote) stated "I cannot discover any characters by which it [Aeolosoma stokesii Craig, 1887] can be...  
Status Beddard (1889: 51, footnote) stated "I cannot discover any characters by which it [Aeolosoma stokesii Craig, 1887] can be differentiated from Æ. quaternarium or Æ. ehrenbergii." Later, van der Land (1971: 690) listed the species under the species inquirendae, considering the taxon to be "an unidentifiable species". The species needs to be reassessed.  [details]
