Full text: San Martín et al. (2026) erected the new genus Nygrenia within the subfamily Autolytinae (Syllidae, Annelida), but omitted both the designation of the type species and the grammatical gender of the genus name. We, the original authors, hereby designate Nygrenia acutidentata San Martin, Hutchings and Álvarez-Campos, 2026 as the type species of Nygrenia, as required under Article 13.3 of the Code for the genus-name to be available (ICZN 1999), and also state that the name is of feminine gender. Currently, this genus contains two species, N. acutidentata and N. longiproventriculata San Martin, Hutchings and Álvarez-Campos, 2026. See San Martín et al. (2026) for a diagnosis of the new genus Nygrenia.
