Among the polychaetous annelids from the South China Sea (near the Xisha Islands and adjacent waters), two new species were found living in the depths 150-219 m in muddy sand sediments. They belong to the little known genus Euniphysa Wesenberg-Lund, 1949 and subgenus Paraserpula Southward, 1963. Only one species of the genus Euniphysa aculeata Wesenberg-Lund, 1949 has been recorded before. The subgenus Paraserpula, of which only two previous species were known, has attracted considerable interest in recent years. Description of these two new species are given below. The holotype and paratype are deposited in the Institute of OceanoIogy, Academia Sinica, Tsingtao.
