Etymology The specific epithet piccola is an Italian adjective, and refers to the small size of the species. [details]
Habitat The species was collected from plastic sponges, submerged at shallow water. [details]
Reproduction Male holotype with sperm morulae and free spermatozoa. Epitoky in an early stage, as parapodia 6 and 7 had few falcigers; a less mature male paratype only with compound spinigers. Female paratypes all immature. [details]
Type locality Behind reef of Cherokee Sound, Abaco Island, Bahamas, West Atlantic Ocean (gazetteer estimate 29.29º, -77.05º), at 10 m, from submerged plastic sponges. [details]
