Introduced species remark There are recent (2019) reports on the new occurrence and spread in Chesapeake Bay of a pilargid species identified as Hermundura americana (Dauer, Rodi, and others, unpublished, eg presentation to IPC13, Long Beach, August, 2019; poster presentation to Atlantic Estuarine Research Society, April 2019) [details]Synonymy Glasby & Hocknull (2010) treat H. americana as a new combination valid name of Loandalia americana without comment, although pointing out the latter was placed into junior synonymy with H. fauveli according to Pettibone (1966). It was Emerson & Fauchald (1971: 19) who had indirectly re-validated Loandalia americana as Parandalia americana [details]
