Authority The 1959 Hartman catalogue p.548 lists Laonome ceratodaula as authored by Ehlers (1904). This is an incorrect authority as Ehlers clearly indicated he was recombining Sabella ceratodaula Schmarda, 1861 as Laonome ceratodaula (Schmarda, 1861). WoRMS discovered and corrected the error in the record for Laonome ceratodaula in November 2018. [details]Identification Ehlers seemingly based his description of Schmarda's species as a Laonome on the original specimen from New Zealand, plus material from the Falklands and the Laysan Islands. It is likely misidentifications were involved, as the same species is unlikely to occur at such far-separated locations. [details] |
