Nomenclature The name Pomatoleios kraussii var. manilensis Pillai, 1965 is unavailable as it is an infrasubspecific name (a 'variety') published after 1960 (ICZN article 15.2). It does not enter nomenclature (see ICZN articles 45.5, 45.5.1, and 45.6, especially 45.5.1). The correct authorship is Spirobranchus manilensis Sivananthan, Sivalingam, Kupriyanova, Quek, Yap & Teo, 2022. Those authors are the first to describe the species with an available name. Other mentions are as name-only in checklists or synonymies, or as unavailable names (eg. Sivananthan, Shantti, Kupriyanova, Quek, Yap & Teo, 2021 with authorship kept as Pillai, 1965) [details]
