Etymology The specific epithet longipes is a Latin adjective meaning 'long-footed' or 'long-legged', and refers presumably to the length of the parapodia of the species, described as being "well developed, long, muscular [...] In length this parapodium also calls to mind that of Admetella longepedata" (Ditlevsen, 1917: 67, 69).
