Original description Lepidasthenia digueti Gravier, 1905 was published as a new species three times in the same year: in the Bulletin du Muséum d'Histoire Naturelle, Paris, in the Bulletin de la Société Philomatique de Paris, and in the Comptes Rendus Hebdomadaires des Séances de l'Académie des Sciences, Paris. It is not clearly evident which publication was available first, but in the Bulletin du Muséum it is stated (page 178, footnote): "L'étude de ce Stomatopode, par M. H. Coutière, paraîtra prochainement dans le Bulletin de la Société Philomathique de Paris (1905), en même temps que la description détaillée, avec figures, du Polynoïdien sur lequel il a été trouvé." Moreover, the following issue of the same journal (Bulletin du Muséum, 1905, 11(4): 215), concerning the reunion of 30 May 1905, refers "M. le Président dépose sur le bureau le fascicule du Bulletin pour l'année 1905, contenent les communications faites dans la réunion du 28 mars 1905", which includes the description of Lepidasthenia digueti, meaning that the description published in the Bulletin du Muséum was already availabe in the 30 May 1905. On the other hand, it was not possible to find evidence of the exact publication date of the Bulletin de la Société Philomatique and so, for priority purposes, it should be considered to be the 31 December 1905. Finally, the issue of the Comptes Rendus, concerning the session of 27 March 1905, was already available the 15 April 1905, as evidenced by the stamp of the issue owned by the Library of the Museum of Comparative Zoology, Harvard University, and available online through the Biodiversity Heritage Library. For this reason, the description included in the Comptes Rendus, while being incomplete, is here considered to be the original one. [details]
