Etymology The specific epithet nuchalata derives from the Latin words nucha, meaning 'neck', and latus, meaning 'side', and refers to the presence of a semicircular nuchal fold in the anterior region of the peristomium and projecting anteriorly, ranging from between the eyes to the basis of the median antenna.
