Neotype Salazar-Vallejo (2011) wished to move Haswell's C. longisetosa to Stylarioides, and he stated he was creating a neotype for it, because Haswell's material was considered lost. Haswell's two specimens came from Port Molle, Queensland (1 specimen), and Darnley Island, Torres Strait (1 specimen). Salazar-Vallejo's specimen Neotype (AM-15029), is from Juno Bay (off Hariet Pt., Fantome Island, Queensland. There is no obvious connection to the known original localities. Salazar-Vallejo also noted that material of Spies (1975) differed from the original description, thus suggesting more than one similar species occurred, and requiring a neotype, but the logic of this is not obvious, as Spies work is not taxonomic.
