Etymology authors: "The new genus name [Cryptochaetosyllis], feminine in gender, derives from Crypto (covered in Latin) + chaetae + syllis (a Greek Sicyonian nymph), referring to the fact that chaetae in the atokous region of the single known species remain covered by tissue inside the chaetal lobe." [details]
Grammatical gender Cryptochaetosyllis is feminine, as is Syllis, type genus of the family. [details]
