Diagnosis Karaseva et al (2021): "The tube is cylindrical, tapering towards the posterior end with collar-like frills that divide the tube externally into segments. The colour of the tube is mostly yellow. The tentacles of the crown are positioned chaotically and are not organised in any strict arrangement. The tentacles are curly and bare, i.e. with no sign of pinnules. The forepart is massive, with a triangular cephalic lobe on the anterior part. The cephalic lobe is separated from the rest of the forepart by a wide, prominent furrow. The keels of the bridle lie on elevated ridges. These keels are separated from each other on both the ventral and dorsal sides. Each papilla of the metameric region contains several multicellular glands that open on the lateral surface of the papillae. A single cuticular plate is positioned on the distal end of each papilla. The border of neighbouring metameric papillae is not always clear. The nonmetameric part of the trunk bears prominent rounded papillae on the dorsal side. The opisthosoma was not found." [details]
Etymology authors: The name Crispabrachia "reflects the curly shape of the tentacles from the Latin word ‘crispus’ that means curly, so Crispabrachia, gen. nov. is the one with curly tentacles" [details]
