From editor or global species database
Etymology named after after the late Dr. Elise Wesenberg-Lund, author of the genus Stenoninereis. Author: "The name is a noun in apposition and was formed by the elision of the last vowel for euphony." [details]
Type designation author: "Due to the morphological variability observed in specimens belonging to Stenoninereis, the designation of syntypes was preferred" [details]
Type locality Espiritu Santo River, Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, near "Castanon confluent". All specimens known (8) were collected in 1977 by W.R. Bhajan. There is no geolocation given. The river outlet to the sea is at 18.41, -65.80, but the collection location is assumed to be well inland. The location "Castanon confluent" could not be found mentioned outside of this report. Presumably the word "confluence" (a junction of two equal rivers) was meant. [details]
