Description As a variety of Spirorbis granulatus. The text in full (Latin) is: "Warming captis carinæ late rotundatæ et in apertura in dentes protractæ sunt (Var. tridentatus)." The tube is figured in Plate 3, figure 10 [details]
Status The Knight-Jones's (1977) discuss the taxonomic history of the name, but it is difficult to follow their explanation on their application of the name. Perhaps the original name is indeterminable, although its modern application may be to a known entity. [details]
